Torrey McCoyTorrey has proudly served the Fort Collins community through business endeavors since moving to Fort Collins in 1999. He owned and operated McCoy’s Morning Glory Restaurant for nearly 13 years. He continues to have the privilege of serving the Northern Colorado senior citizen community through developing and managing a non-medical home care company with Columbine Health Systems. He is also a Realtor with ReMax Alliance where he continues to serve the community. Torrey was integral with UC Health’s SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Exam) fundraising efforts and developed a passion for the invaluable services SAVA provides to area victims. He began serving on the board in 2017.
Lea HansonDr. Lea Hanson is a writer, editor, researcher, and organizational trainer. She holds a Ph.D. in organization performance and change and a master’s degree in student affairs in higher education; both from Colorado State University. Her professional expertise lies in qualitative research and story-telling, managing generational differences in the workplace, leading organizational change, and intergenerational management and supervision. She is an active community volunteer giving her time regularly to organizations that support and uplift women. She is a former member and chair of the City of Fort Collins Women’s Commission, former longtime volunteer domestic abuse advocate, and has served the SAVA Center as a board member since 2012.
Position: Board TreasurerI’m a busy wife, mother and CPA who has a passion for SAVA and everything that it does to help victims of sexual assault and prevent future victims. When I’m not at work or chauffeuring my kids around, I like to watch movies with my family, paper craft and watch football. I am thrilled to be serving as SAVA’s treasurer on its Board of Directors.
Position: Board SecretaryCarrie Endres earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and is an auditor with Eide Bailly LLP. She believes in promoting prevention of sexual assault and helping all that have been affected. Carrie enjoys reading, bowling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Position: Board MemberJonas developed a passion for the issue of sexual assault while studying at the University of California Santa Barbara. He was a member and co-coordinator of Men Against Rape working to educate other male students. He moved to Colorado in 2007 and joined the SAVA board in 2012 and served as Board Chair from 2014 - 2016. By day, he is a Senior Account Executive with Colorado Choice Health Plans with responsibility for sales in Northern Colorado and Colorado Springs. Jonas lives in Fort Collins with his wife Jen and their 3 young children: Zane, Gabriella and Isaac. He enjoys time with his family, brewing beer, running and enjoying all that Northern Colorado has to offer.
Position: Board MemberSean Grogan is the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Coordinator for the Larimer County Criminal Justice Services Division in Fort Collins, Colorado. A Fort Collins native, Sean earned his degree in Management from Colorado State University, and is currently in his fifteenth year with Larimer County. Partnering with SAVA in 2012 through a Larimer County initiative, Sean instantly became a supporter of the organization and its efforts, and is proud to have become a board member in early 2014. Sean is married to his wife of 23 years, Melissa, and has two great kids, Connor and Katy, ages 22 and 17. Sean is very active in athletics, and you may see him umpiring on an collegiate or high school baseball field, or, even more likely, hacking his way around an area golf course. In fact, Sean holds a benefit golf tournament every year to benefit SAVA.
Position: Board MemberThea is a Chief Deputy District Attorney at the Weld County District Attorney’s Office. She oversees the prosecution of sexual offenses, crimes committed against children, and crimes committed by juveniles. Thea was born and raised in Weld County. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and graduated from the University of Colorado Law School. Thea is proud to have been a member of SAVA’s Board of Directors since 2013.
Position: Board MemberKristie has been a pediatric nurse practitioner for over 20 years and specializes in sexual abuse of children. She is originally from New Mexico but has lived in Utah, Maryland, and Arkansas. She relocated to Fort Collins with her husband and 2 children in 1997. Kristie loves to ski, bicycle, hike and read. Her current passion besides SAVA is going on medical missions.
Dr. Shoshanna Shachtman
Position: Board MemberShoshanna holds her Doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. She has experience and training working with victims of sexual assault and abuse from various ages and degrees. Her dedication to promoting healing and inner strength has been a priority in her private practice work. Shoshanna is proud and excited to be the newest board member of SAVA as of 2015.

Position: Board MemberLynette Whisler is a Financial Advisor in Fort Collins, and earned her Bachelor of Science in finance from Regis University. She is experienced in financial planning, asset management, and planned giving strategies. Lynette believes in the value of a community to help provide the resources necessary to support SAVA Center’s mission and growth throughout Northern Colorado. She enjoys life in Fort Collins with her husband Matt and her sons Rowan and Brett.
