SAVA’s victim advocates staff the 24-Hour Bilingual Rape Crisis Hotline and provide crisis intervention, personal support, advocacy, information, and referrals for victims of sexual assault, their friends, and families. We owe the success of the hotline to our outstanding victim advocates and we would love to share more about this rewarding role with you! Call either of our offices to find out about our next training near you.
Bilingual Advocates provide support and outreach to people in the Latinx communities in Larimer and Weld Counties. They provide advocacy and crisis intervention for monolingual Spanish-speakers who have been affected by sexual assault while also connecting them with appropriate resources. Bilingual Advocates also have the opportunity to help the Bilingual Victim Services Coordinators in preparing and completing presentations and workshops as well as running Spanish-speaking groups and translating any needed materials. Because the Latinx and Spanish-speaking communities are highly underserved in Larimer and Weld Counties, we need bilingual advocates to help us reach those who need our services and decrease the barriers they face when seeking services.
Super World Mentor
Do some good this summer by partnering with a Super Boy or Super Girl! SuperWorld provides prevention education to 8-12 year olds at sites in Fort Collins, Loveland, Wellington, and Greeley through conversations that promote critical thinking about gender stereotypes and media and encourage healthy body image while training for a 5K race. Mentors are invited to participate in group sessions throughout the summer, act as a positive role model, and share in the victory of completing a 5K race with their Super Boy or Super Girl! Mentors must be at least 16 years old.
SART Peers Mentor
SAVA has a fantastic group of high school seniors and juniors eager to educate their peers on healthy relationships and sexual assault, but we need YOU! SART Peers Mentors provide support to SART Peers during presentations. SART Peer Mentors play an integral part in allowing high school students to take on leadership roles in the process of creating positive change towards an end to sexual violence.
Child Activities Volunteer
Child Activities Volunteers offer support, supervision and engagement to children of SAVA clients while they attend groups in Larimer or Weld Counties. Volunteers provide children with age-appropriate and nurturing play-experiences within a safe and positive space for the duration that their caregiver is in group. Our child activities volunteers are essential for allowing SAVA clients to receive the services they need that they otherwise could not receive.
Are you looking for a way to help SAVA but cant commit to some of our long term opportunities? We have just the thing for you! We are constantly having events that we need help setting up or tearing down. We are open to volunteers hosting their own events to benefit SAVA as well. We are open to hearing your ideas. Feel free to contact us at either our Fort Collins or Greeley office.
